1.0 out of 5 stars Not for me, 29 July 2014
Hugely disappointing. I found the writing mediocre and the author either unbelievably shallow and, frankly, nasty, or just pretending to be so for the sake of a cheap laugh. I'm so glad that I acquired the book for free in a book swap and in my own small act of rebellion against her ridicule of anyone not as young and stunning as herself am about to pop it in the bin.

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful audio book, 11 Nov 2013
This was the best audio book I have ever listened to - I had planned to make it last a few weeks as bedtime listening, but devoured all 32 hours of it in a week. I finished this morning and will probably go right back to the beginning. I enjoyed The Secret History but wasn't as wild about it as some people - but I really loved this.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very evocative, 15 April 2012
I would have given this five stars, but for the completely misleading blurb on the back cover. As others have mentioned, the blurb suggests that this will be something Wallander-esque, and I have to say that this is why I picked it up. It's nothing at all like that, but I still really enjoyed it, as I am fascinated by solitary people, creative people, introverted people, and this story definitely explores this type of personality in an extremely remote setting.
