Horrible Histories: Horrible Christmas by Terry Deary

I bought this book for my Son who was 9 at the time. We give Christmas eve presents which are usually a dvd or book related to Yule (Christmas) and some pyjamas or dressing gown etc. Anyway this was the chosen book for my eldest. We like to encourage our children to think outside of the box and not rely on the very selective information taught to them at school. We teach them about where the true Yule celebrations started and how it developed into what it is today and this book supports everything we have ever told them. This book is of course not related to the curriculum so is more factual and like all subjects in the 'Horrible' genre are to the point and written for kids. I learned a few… Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant Bakeware!, 24 Aug 2010
This set was bought for my Daughter for her 5th birthday and we used it today. I have 3 children aged 10, 5 and 2 and I let them do all the work and I supervised. The 3 silicone moulds are small yes but the 4 muffins are bite-size and because they hardly take any time at all to cook it is quite easy to make several batches one after the other. Plus we found that the cakes just fell out of the moulds - no sticking, no problems (we did grease them before hand). One of the best things is that because they don't take long to cook… Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Good game - too short, 26 May 2009
I bought this for my 3 year old Daughter. She loves the Disney Princess Wii game so I thought this would be good for her too. She really enjoyed it and the fact that it shows a different way to use the Wii remote is a good thing. But my Daughter completed it very very quickly and it was a big anticlimax really. She has completed the Disney Princess game lots of times and still goes back to do it again and again but Dora hasn't had the same effect. Overall a good game for any Dora fan but maybe better suited for a first Wii game.
