My father in law was on the Oregonian as part of the armed guard. We knew he was sunk but not the details as he did not talk about it. I've searched for information for years, but found very little. This book showed how dangerous the the armed guard was. The Oregonian was on the front corner of the German attack and was stuck by 3 torpedo. Over half the crew did not survive. The book states the ship did not stand a chance. A very good book on a little known but important part of WWIi history.
