The long awaited third volume in Smith & Creek's FW 190 history does not disappoint. It is another fabulously researched piece of work, as you would expect from the authors.

This volume continues from where volume 2 left off, detailing the late war history of the 190. The late A, D and F series are covered in detail. Further sections cover some fascinating weaponry that was tested on the 190. Night fighters, Sturmgruppe and the Sachsenberg Shwarm are also covered.

The book also has a very interesting section on captured aircraft and the 190 in foreign service. A comprehensive list of surviving 190s is also given.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book., 22 Oct 2013
I was after a reference to use during a build of couple of lightning kits for a magazine, this book fills that purpose very nicely. There are lots of good quality photos of aircraft in service plus a superb section at the back containing lots of detail photos around the entire airframe. The text is informative and the section detailing a brief history of every airfame is a useful reference.

I was puzzled by the comment on poor quality pictures in one of the reviews, certainly there are some which are not as good as others and there is at least one picture showing pixilation (I suspect this is a poor digital enlargement?) but overall the quality is good and the detail photos in… Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book., 12 April 2013
This is a fascinating book and has lots of information on the K98 Rifle including a comprehensive history of its development. Lots of good quality photos are used to illustrate the history. The book consists of two major sections, the history and technical aspects of the gun form the first part, the second is the propaganda photos. This second section contains lots of interesting photos which being mostly of good quality are very useful to the model builder and military historian as well as those interested in arms.

Thoroughly recommended.
