Bought as an 80th birthday present and received with appreciation. You don't have to be elderly to appreciate this ---- but it helps!
Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford

I hate reviews which more or less tell you the story but this one really does deserve all the good statements made about it. Without making judgements about the rights and wrongs of internment during war, Jamie Ford highlights the effects of suspicion, whether justified or not, which falls on different sections of any community when countries are engaged in conflict.

This is also a delightful, non-sentimental love story which lasts the passing of years.

I look forward to his next novel with anticipation.
Ransom Beach (Stephanie Chalice Thrillers Book 2) by Lawrence Kelter

Having read a couple of Stephanie Chalice "mysteries" (crime stories), I shall read more. They are fast-paced, funny and generally good crime fiction.
