I give this five stars because this movie really surprised me, positively, on several fronts.
First, I had never heard of it and saw it purely by luck, I had no idea what it was about.
Second, it starts really strongly and keeps it up (pretty much, but I will not spoil your fun). Action scenes are amazing, and the scenery is beautiful.
Third, Pierce Brosnan is really far from his usual polished roles here, he convincingly plays a gritty character.

I don t know why they make two different movies, at the same time, on the same subject, but both this one and "Olympus" are well worth watching for pure fun. Many others have compared this to Die Hard, and indeed it is. The Washington DC views are quite impressive (having just been there on vacation to visit, it was an added bonus). Have a look at this, you will have a good time.

There is a part in Berlin where I realised what this was about, but until then I was on the edge on my seat. The characters are great, some amazing (the Uncle, Cody Hoyt - making his first appearance). I must say the end - and the detailed plot revelations - require some suspension of disbelief. Also, as a European myself, the part in Berlin is very grating with the stereotypes (and inaccuracies). However this thriller really thrilled me, what else to ask? 5 stars and I… Read more
