It has material from their most creative period and effectivly abandons the "#1 hits" format that Beatles CD's have gotten locked into and not acknowledged other good songs like "I Am the Walrus" or "A Day In the Life". It also includes material from the "White Album", which as good as it is, is always ignored on Beatles hits discs.
Furthermore all four members are given recognition not just John and Paul; "Octapus's Garden" by Ringo and such songs as "Here Comes the Sun" and others by George are included, whereas the new compilation "1" only features one George song: "Something", which is a superb song, but not a… Read more

This is an exceptional album. It showcases some of the Dead's best studio tracks and an excellent live song (the Dead are known especially for their status as a live jam band).Let's take a look...
1."The Golden Road(To Unlimited Devotion)-very trippy and psychadellic. Great harmonies and instrumentation.
2."Truckin'"-an interesting song that tells an interesting story.

3."Rosemary"-very, very weird and far-out a very acidy song, beautiful.
4."Sugar Magnolia"-a typical Dead studio song. Very drug sounding. Great harmonies and vocal.
5."St.Stephen"-splendid, an interesting track with good singing,… Read more

It has been converted to pristine stereo on all except the first disc, but it still sounds better that what's out now.
All the discs are complete with mini-LP cases, the discs are even little paper bags like a vinyl 33rpm record. Some are gateway fold and some are standard. A beatuiful set.
The lyrics are complete and updated to include the then edited parts like "she gets high" on "Break On Through", and Jim saying
"F**k" on "The End", the "Esential Rarities" disc is edited, and shows… Read more
