This is the third album from the Finnish harmonica quartet annd once again it's a great album that serves up a whole range of music that defies classification. There's a definite progression from the first album through to this one but but I don't place any of them ahead or behind each other- it's simply a natural change in feel and emphasis.

The lead lines are always interesting but the bass and rhythm woven in and around the melody is simply wonderful - the title track is a near perfect example. It's an exceptional tight sound but you can hear the joy and in the interplay between all four throughout the album. You don't need to be a harmonica fan to enjoy this, the music… Read more
Tombo 3121C Tombo Harmonica Band 21 C by Tombo
This Tombo has been my mainstay for three or four years now and I simply can't fault them for playing with other instruments

The basic idea throughout is to make loops (or lines) of a specific colour. In a solo puzzle, it's using an increasing number of pieces to create a solution - it starts of simply enough but soon generates plenty of challenge. There are a couple of game styles described in the booklet - understanding 'gobbles' is pretty much the most complex thing .. and they are just holes with 3 pieces instead of 2!

Game play can be fast-paced or leisurely, co-operative or competitive and as strategic or opportunistic as you want to make it. The games are… Read more
