4.0 out of 5 stars Great relaxing album, 18 July 2012
Bought this album having heard the soundtrack of "Take Me Home", and was compelled to check out the band. This is a great album, with a great relaxing "California" vibe to it. Some of the tracks can sound a bit samey on first listen, but listening to it again makes it much easier to pick out individual tracks, and you get more of a feel for it. Thoroughly recommend this album to anyone who likes singer songwriter type music and bands. Looking forward to going on a road trip with this album loaded. As per the previous comment, I would also have preferred to have bought the album on CD. CD's don't have a history of vanishing into the ether.

This is a brilliant album, especially the acoustic versions from Order of the Black, it adds a whole new dimension to the songs such as Overlord and Parade of the Dead, they are almost unrecognisable. The other covers are brilliant too, and show how good Zakk's voice can be. The musicianship on the album is also excellent, notable not only for Zakk's guitar work but for all of the other instruments that he plays on the album. For someone trying to get into Black Label Society or Zakk Wylde, then try listening to Pride and Glory or Book of Shadows first as they are more complete albums, but for a fan of the band, then this album is well worth buying and should not be missed.
