Learn to Play Fingerstyle Solos for Ukulele by Mark Kailana Nelson
As a 'ukulele beginner, I bought this as the most recommended fingerstyle tutor.

It's a great book. The arrangements are excellent, with several tunes appearing in the book twice - once in a simpler format and once with a more advanced arrangement. I am only at the stage of being able to play (rather haltingly!) the first five or six tunes in the book, but they sound lovely. The included CD shows you what they are supposed to sound like - and is a nice listen on it's own. Unexpected because I didn't realise that this had been released. I have always loved Stump, and had managed to collect virtually everything they ever released on vinyl. I didn't have the CD version of Fierce Pancake, but had lovingly dubbed everything from vinyl to CD (and then to mp3). Now I can throw away some of those recordings and listen to everything without the pops and crackles from my worn records!

As has been mentioned, this isn't quite a complete anthology - missing the Peel sessions and a couple of remixes (the Charlton Heston remix is especially missed). However it is a very comprehensive collection.

Many of the tracks on the third disk are taken from the… Read more
