I have been doing this diet for six weeks and 11 lbs have gone already. Lots of pounds in the first week and now a reassuringly steady 1-1.5 lbs per week. It is so painless - I have never shed weight more easily. I also feel more alert, my skin is glowing and I have more energy - even on fast days. I slipped in to the routine quite quickly and now I happily fast knowing that even if I'm hungry this evening I can eat normally the next day - and the consistent weight loss is totally worth it. It helps that I am currently working with other people doing the fast diet so there is some moral support around me. This book gives a cursory overview of hypothyroidism but you cannot rely on the information within it. For example, it recommends completely avoiding ALL cruciferous vegetables and leafy greens because they contain goitrogens that can impede thyroid hormone synthesis. What it doesn't mention is that light cooking of these vegetables significantly deactivates the goitrogens. In addition, the goitergenic action of these foods is proven to affect people with iodine deficiency and is not a problem for all. So as long as you cook them you can enjoy cruciferous vegetables & leafy greens and benefit from their health giving properties - and take an iodine supplement. A book that purports to… Read more

This DVD is so brilliant. I have had really bad problems with tension in my shoulders and hunching at the top of my spine - my physical alignment has been poor for a long time. I was worried that I would end up with a dowager's hump so I took up the Body Control challenge. It is absolutely the best - I cannot recommend it highly enough. You learn so much about your body and the feeling after doing this workout is free, supple and powerful.
