4.0 out of 5 stars satisfying read, 3 Jan 2013
I really enjoyed this book, not your average "vampire book" - in fact the vampires were a minor part of the whole story. Loved the characters, especially the kick-ass but humble heroine. Can't wait to read the next one, and hope there will be a whole series.
Well worth a read - especially since it's free:)

Although I did manage to finish this book, just, I found the lack of editing or even simple proof reading so off-putting I moaned and cursed all the way through it. Also, written in the present tense really grates on me (or "greats" as Jodi would probably write!) The woman was so pathetic and the man so revoltingly controlling I would have called his bluff immediately! Still, I got through it. About the same level of writing as 50 shades. There are lots better written books out there.
If you can stomach 'rein' instead of 'reign' and vice versa, 'affect' instead of 'effect', its and it's, three sofa's, appost instead of opposed .... you might be ok :)

A Hidden Fire: Elemental Mysteries Book One by Elizabeth Hunter
There's so many vampire books it's hard to choose good ones! This was free and the first of a series so I took a chance even though it's self published. I loved it from the start, the characters are interesting and developed and the story kept me interested. Written in the third person, which I prefer, the story swaps from one character to the other without losing you. Not quite as sex-filled as some of the vampire books around, more "classically" written, but seductive nevertheless.

There were NO grammatical/spelling/typos that I could spot, and this pleased me. I can't wait to read the next in the series, and I've now bought all four.
