Gold: Greatest Hits ~ ABBA
Abba's hits are essential for a good record collection, whetther you like them or not. The recent resurgence in their popularity show what good 'pop' songs they wrote. Infectious melodies, with bags of melancholy undertones, esp for 'Winner takes it all', 'One of Us' and 'SOS'.

A little corny in the lyrics at times ... but that only adds to their charm and appeal when song with the voices of Annafrid and Agnetha ( Bjorn should stick to writing)
Endlessly ~ Duffy
Endlessly ~ Duffy
I like Duffy's retro sixties soulful voice but the songs a well down on the excellent Rockferry Album. The songs are very average, lack the direction and atmosphere of the songsd on Rockferry, which is an excellent album. I generally like a bit of melancholy in my songs which Duffy's voice has in spades .... but that is it really. It is an OK album to listen to ... but that's all. It was pretty cheap so on that score only worth what I paid for it!
Tapestry ~ Carole King
Tapestry ~ Carole King
Excellent songs with something to say performed by Carole in her own thoughtful way with a lot of her soul added into them.

Many of the songs were written to be performed by others but Carole makes the songs her own with her own soul added. I can't think think of any other versions performed better than these here.

Outstanding!!! No record collection complete without it!
