Samsung Slim Retail External DVD Writer - White by Samsung
5.0 out of 5 stars So far so good..., 29 July 2014
Measuring some 5.5 inches square and .75 inches in height this is a fairly slim and light DVD rewriter, just right to carry about if needed. I purchased mine to go with a new Macbook Air laptop as the advert confirmed it's Mac compatibility. Given the Mac's limited USB count, I needed a device that used a single port and I'm glad to say that this fits the bill.
I have only tried this so far to read discs and it works perfectly. The burning software provided is Windows only which seems strange given it's compatibility credentials.
Given the price paid, it represents good value for money even given the limited software and thus far can be recommended.
The Patrol [DVD] DVD ~ Ben Righton
The Patrol [DVD] DVD ~ Ben Righton
As an anti war film this might succeed but if purchased for entertainment value then I'm sorry, it flops. There is little in the way of character development and so no opportunity for the viewer to really empathise with their plight. No action scenes to speak of and no real storyline to keep your interest. The location seemed realistic and cinematography was fine hence a two star rating.

3.0 out of 5 stars So so film, 28 July 2014
A great cast, interesting story, obvious big budget but poor implementation turns The Monuments Men into a so so film. Much more could have been made of the characters being brought together to form their unit, and in doing so enhanced the viewers perception of why this slice of history was so important to them as individuals and to us all. Worth watching for the story but don't expect a WW2 epic.
