I liked this book and cannot wait to read the next book in the series . My favourite part was the ending and my favourite character was Wisp . Thank you for making this book and I am looking forward to getting all of her books .

Having just forced my way through the last few pages of this very dry book I would struggle to recommend it to a friend. There is some very interesting content but unfortunately it is buried under pages of boring and often irrelevant detail. For instance after a handful of pages about Philip of Burgundy being shipwrecked off the coast of Dorset, an episode which suddenly livens up the book, we then return to endless, detailed descriptions of the conspiracies of, and against, Henry.

At the end of the book I can say I'm no wiser about why Henry was the person he was; I know nothing of how he came to power other than a few brief pages at the start of the book; I didn't get a feeling… Read more

I'm sad to say that I've given up on this after 250 pages. I never give up on books, but this was so excruciatingly boring and badly written that it comes as some relief to bin it!
A tedious plot, written in a deliberately convoluted way just to introduce some mystery....
The author desperately needed a good editor - we don't need a description of a handrail which then has nothing else to do with the story...
The author also introduces words which are used out of their normal context, for instance at one point he talks about characters walking into a 'chock', which seems to mean a small room. I was constantly finding myself re-reading pages in an attempt to work out what on… Read more
