Shuggie was a true visionary who was utterly unappreciated at the time. On reflection his records are simply too schizophrenic but when they are good they are sublime. At least a third of this stuff is magical. The debut features some dreary blues and the other two can run away in flights of fantasy but cherry pick these albums and you could change your life.

I knew nothing about this guy despite being something of a fanatical prog rocker. I was very pleasantly surprised. A nice blend of styles and would appeal to fans of the Jeff Wayne/Alan Parsons end of the genre. The records never lose sight of their pop routes.

For completists only this is a perfect cheap round up of the twilight years of one of the greatest ever rock bands. It's about 20% good. So worth buying.
