Silver Girl by Elin Hilderbrand
Silver Girl by Elin Hilderbrand
3.0 out of 5 stars Great relaxing read, 18 Aug 2013
This was the first of Elin's books that I have read and since then, I have swallowed about 4 or 5 of them. The plot is lightly inspired, I believe, by the Bernie Madoff financial crime. It deals with the fallout of a similar wall street financial disaster on the wife of the perpetrator and her escape to Nantucket Island to live down the scandal. While there she reacquaints herself with an old friend and meets new people while enjoying the beauty of her surroundings. Faithful Place by Tana French
Faithful Place by Tana French
I love the way Tana writes. She drags you straight into the story and creates real page turners. Her characters are enjoyable and believable, she captures the Irish psyche perfectly and the police procedural business is well thought out and researched. She is an intelligent and talented writer. The Paris Wife by Paula McLain
The Paris Wife by Paula McLain
I am a huge fan anyway of that time period between the two great wars, the twenties, scott fitzgerald, jazz etc so picked up this book asap as soon as I read the synopsis and saw that it was a fictional account by Hemingway's first wife Hadley and their life in Europe in the 1920s. I loved it. Not finished it yet, but already sad that it will soon end. beautifully written, strong characterisation, page turning. Will definitely be looking for more of this author's books.
