There are so many words used to describe Randy Rhoads since his woefully early death in 1982, I have struggled over the last 25 or so years to find them. This album is all that needs to be testament to the greatness of this meteor in orbit. His virtuosity combined with lyricism is on display throughout, but for me as a life long Sabbath fan, his cover of Children of the Grave says everything about Randy's genius. Flawless and free.

Rest in Peace Randy, you were the simply the best.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unbelievable Richter, 11 Nov 2008
There is simply no adequate description of Richter's 1965 account of Prokofiev's 6th. It is almost outside the realms of belief. Not only is his pianism so remarkable but his understanding of this sonata, at times cutting, then tender, sarcastic, lurid and disturbing is just so overwhelming. There is no other recording that can match let alone surpass this truly remarkable account. Even by Richter's stellar standards, the recording here of the 6th is awesome. The sound quality is poor but that is so irrelevant when witnessing such a feat of art as this. Buy it

5.0 out of 5 stars Ravishing Playing, 25 Oct 2008
This two CD set of Grumiaux is a must for lovers of great violin playing. From first notes to last his remarkable beauty and tone are truly ravishing. The sonatas range from very familiar (Franck, Debussy, Faure) to the little known Lekeu sonata, which for me is the truly outstanding recording on here. Grumiaux's playing becomes overwhelmingly beautiful in this sonata and makes case for this wonderful sonata to become more well known. If you already know Grumiaux's playing buy this set, if you don't know the great Belgian's art, start here and now.
