Parental Controls on Kindle Fire and Kindle Fire HD lets you restrict access to the Silk Browser, purchases and downloads, the E-mail, Contacts and Calendar apps, video playback, and Wi-Fi connectivity. Each individual content library, such as Books, Apps and Music can also be restricted with Parental Controls.

Once Parental Controls are enabled, a password is required to access blocked content and to change the restriction settings.

To enable or disable Parental Controls on your Kindle Fire:

1. Swipe down from the top of the screen.
2. Tap More / Settings, then tap Parental Controls.
3. Tap Parental Controls and then select On or Off.
4. Follow the onscreen instructions to set a Parental Controls password and enable control settings on your device.

To turn off In-App purchasing on your Kindle Fire:

1. Swipe down from the top of the screen.
2. Tap More / Settings, then tap Applications.
3. Under the heading Amazon Applications, tap Apps
4. Tap In-App Purchasing
5. Tap the tick box to change In-App Purchasing settings
