Find the Items You Want

Using the search bar at the top of any of our pages, you can search for whatever you're looking for by, for example, brand, product name or type. You'll also find links to browse lists and more detailed product-specific searches in the top navigation bar of each store. When you find an item that interests you, click the title or name of the item to see its product detail page. Here you'll find more information about the item, including an availability estimate of how long it'll take for the item to be delivered.

Add the Items to Your Shopping Basket

If you want to order an item from Amazon.co.uk, click the "Add to Shopping Basket" button on the item's product detail page. If you want to buy the product from another seller, click the link in the More Buying Choices box instead and follow the directions. Once you've added an item to your Shopping Basket you can keep searching or browsing until your basket contains all the items you want to order. You can access the contents of your Shopping Basket at any time by clicking the Shopping Basket button at the top of every page of our website.

Proceed to Checkout

Take a moment to review the items you've placed in your Shopping Basket. If you decide that you don't want to purchase any of them right away, click the "save for later" button next to the title. The item will move from your current Shopping Basket to the "Saved Items - To Buy Later" list below. If any of the items are gifts, click the "add gift-wrap/note" checkbox under the item. You'll be given a chance to order gift-wrap and/or add a note during the checkout process.

When you're ready to place an order for everything in the "Shopping Basket - Items To Buy Now" section of your basket, click the "Proceed to checkout" button. You'll be taken to the first page of the checkout process.

The instructions below outline each step of our checkout process. If at any point you run into problems or receive an error message, please contact us.

Sign In and Create a New Account

Enter your e-mail address. The e-mail address you provide will be the only address we can send information to about this or subsequent orders. Under the question "Do you have an Amazon.co.uk password?" select the "No, I am a new customer" option. Don't fill in the password field yet. You'll be asked to provide a password for your account later in the process. Click the "Sign in" button.

Enter a Delivery Address

Tell us where you'd like your order delivered. Please make be sure to give the full address that you'd like the order delivered to, including postcode. This doesn't have to be your home address. Unless it's a large item that requires a specialist courier you could have your order delivered to your place of work, for example.

If the order is being delivered to a BFPO address, click here for further instructions. If it's being delivered to a Post Office box, please enter the words "PO BOX" before your box number to make sure that the order is delivered by the UK Postal Service.

If your order is being delivered to the Canary Islands, please enter "Spain" as your country on the order form.

If your order is being delivered to the US click here to find out exactly what information to enter in each field on the order form.

You'll need to include a phone number that you can be contacted on as part of your delivery address so the carrier will be able to contact you if there's any issue with the delivery.

Choose a Delivery Method

This is where you'll decide how quickly you'd like to receive your order, and choose a delivery method. If you'd like to take advantage of FREE Super Saver Delivery and your order qualifies, be sure to select it, as you won't receive free delivery automatically.

Please note that you can't choose a specific carrier for your order.

We'll estimate dispatch dates for you in the dispatch process, just before you submit your order. You'll see estimated dispatch and delivery dates in the e-mail we send you to confirm your order.

If there's more than one item in your order, you'll be given the following options:

  • Group my items into as few deliveries as possible
  • I want my items faster. Dispatch them as soon as they become available (at additional cost)

If you choose the "Group my items into as few deliveries as possible" option, you'll be charged the amount quoted at checkout for delivery. We calculate this charge based on the highest applicable per-delivery fee of all the items in your order plus the per-item charge for each item. The total delivery charge for the order will be displayed on the last page of the order form, before you submit your order.

If you choose the "I want my items faster. Deliver items as they become available" option, the delivery amount displayed when you place your order shows how much you'll pay if each item dispatches separately. We try to dispatch items together as much as possible, so your actual delivery total will usually be less than the estimate. Read more about delivery preferences, and find domestic delivery rates or international delivery rates on our Dispatch & Delivery Help Pages. The delivery charge for your order will be displayed on the order summary page just before you complete your order.
