Setting Up Your Seller Account

If you've already set up an Seller Account, your Seller Account was set up automatically when you entered your bank account details. If you opted to enter your bank account details later, you must enter them before your Seller Account can be activated. We take our customer's privacy very seriously and all your financial and personal details will be stored safely and are covered by our Security Guarantee.

Sellers are unable to collect any payments until they have set up an Seller Account. To become payments-enabled click View your Seller Account under the Get Paid heading in Your Seller Account.

Apply for Marketplace now.

Once you've submitted your details, you'll usually be notified of your approval for Marketplace within a few minutes. In unusual cases, confirmation may take up to 24 hours.

You can now register to sell on if you are resident in one of the countries supported by Amazon. Furthermore, if you do not have a trading history with us, a PIN (personal identification number) will be provided to you during the registration process for which you need a local phone number. You will be asked to verify your PIN using our automated system before we complete your registration. We can only transfer funds from your Seller Account to your bank account when your registration is complete.

Why do you need my bank account information?

All of the proceeds from your sales will be transferred directly into your bank account via a BACS (Bankers Automated Clearing Service) deposit. This is the most efficient method of paying you. All information you enter on our seller registration pages is encrypted through our use of a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) service. If you ever need to change or update your bank account information you may do so via our website. To change your bank account information:

  1. Log into your Seller Account,
  2. In the "Settings" section, please click the "Seller Account Information" link,
  3. Click the "Edit"/"Add" button in the "Deposit Method" section,
  4. Select the country of your bank account from the drop-down menu next to Bank Location Country,
  5. If your bank is based in one of the countries supported by Amazon Currency ConverterTM for Sellers other than the UK, please make sure that you read and accept the terms and conditions of the Agreement in the "Bank Account Information" section, in order to be paid in your local currency,
  6. Enter your bank details, then click the "Submit" button.

All future Marketplace transactions will be submitted to this new bank account. Please be aware that this change will not affect any current transactions.

Please note that once you have entered or amended your bank account details, it will not be possible to request a settlement until 14 days have passed. After that time, you should be able to request a settlement as often as once every 24 hours. Please note that 6 to 10 working may be needed for the funds to reach your bank account.

Why do you need my credit card information?

If your Seller Account balance exceeds GBP 25.00 your monthly Pro-merchant subscription fee will be deducted from that balance. If not, the remaining difference will be deducted from your credit card.

What if my application is declined?

Your decision on whether or not you chose to enter your bank account information at the time of registration has no bearing on the acceptance of your application. However, due to the proprietary nature of the Marketplace application process, we cannot share the reasons for failed applications, nor can we detail the criteria by which applications are evaluated.

Our system does not accept repeat applications. Since all sellers on must be registered with Marketplace in order to list items on our website, failed Marketplace applicants cannot list items for sale with us.
