How Amazon.co.uk Marketplace Works

When we receive payment from a buyer, we record that transaction in your Amazon.co.uk Seller Account and notify you via e-mail. The Disbursable Amount is paid directly into your bank account every two weeks. There's no need for you to do anything apart from post the item to the buyer.

Amazon.co.uk guarantees your transactions so you don't have to worry about dealing with any charge-backs directly from customers, but we will be entitled to reimbursement by you. To secure potential refund and reimbursement obligations, we require you to maintain a pending payment amount equal to 14 days of sales activity plus any pending deductions. We call this minimum balance a Reserve.

Fees for using Amazon.co.uk Marketplace

Amazon.co.uk Marketplace sellers do not have to pay any additional fees for collecting the proceeds of their sales via Amazon.co.uk Marketplace as this is included in the closing fee (or subscription fee if you have a Pro-merchant subscription).

VAT on Amazon.co.uk Marketplace Fees

Due to a European Union directive that subjects electronically-supplied services to VAT, Amazon.co.uk is required to charge VAT on all seller fees including Amazon.co.uk Marketplace fees charged on or after July 1, 2003. For more information, see VAT on Seller Fees.

Amazon.co.uk Seller Account service features

Your Amazon.co.uk Seller Account helps you manage your online sales (you can find additional tools to help you manage sales in Manage Your Orders). You'll find resources for refunding your buyer, tracking your sales and downloading your account information in the "Get paid" section of the Your Seller Account page:

  1. Click the View your payments account link.
  2. Click the Transactions link.

A detailed and downloadable breakdown of your current statement is displayed.

Limits

Because customers use their credit/debit cards to make payments, we set limits to prevent misuse of the service. There are limits on both the size of the individual transactions and the total GBP amount processed in a given period. The maximum amount we can process for any individual transaction is GBP 2000.00. The amount you can receive in a given time period varies, based on our evaluation of your account.
