About Accessing Amazon Instant Video & Registering Your Device

After you download or open Amazon Instant Video on your compatible device, you'll need to connect the device to your Amazon account.

To start watching videos on your compatible device, you'll first need to download or open Amazon Instant Video. You'll then be prompted to sign in to your Amazon account directly from your device, or go to www.amazon.co.uk/mytv and use a registration code.

Note: To purchase, rent, and watch Amazon Instant Videos on an Android phone, you'll need to install the Amazon Mobile app for Android. For more information about the Amazon Mobile app for Android, go to About the Amazon Mobile App.

Tip: If you or someone in your household has an Amazon Prime membership or Prime Instant Video monthly subscription, it's best to use that account when registering your device so you can take full advantage of the Prime Instant Video service. You can view and manage your registered devices and video preferences from the Amazon Instant Video settings page in Your Account. If you don't see your device under Registered Devices, make sure you're currently signed in to the same Amazon account you entered during the registration process, or try to complete registration again.

Note:

  • You can only register your device to one Amazon account at a time. If you don't have an account, you can create one at Amazon.co.uk/account.

  • If you need help registering your Kindle Fire, go to Kindle Support and select your device.
  • To register your Sony device with Amazon Instant Video, you may first need to register with Sony Essentials. Some Sony devices also require a BRAVIA Internet Video Link. If you get a "Cannot deregister device at this time" error message, restarting your device often resolves the issue.
