Press or slide and hold the power button for 20 seconds.	Click the timer above to count the full 20 seconds.	After 6 to 8 seconds, the screen will go blank. This is normal. How do I set up the Wi-Fi connection on my Kindle?

Kindle automatically detects nearby Wi-Fi networks and hotspots that broadcast their network name. When you visit a place that offers Wi-Fi access, such as your school, home, or the Wi-Fi hotspot at your favourite cafe, you can join a Wi-Fi network.
