The Amazon Family Programme

Amazon Family is a membership programme aimed at making it easier for parents, families and caregivers to find everything they need at Amazon.co.uk. By giving us some information about your family, we can ensure you have access to the right products, offers and information at the right time. Amazon Family members get access to exclusive offers and discounts as well as other benefits including a three-month trial of Amazon Prime.

Anyone can join Amazon Family but the programme is designed for parents, relatives or other caregivers of young children. Visit the Amazon Family homepage to sign up and get started. The offer only applies to products sold by Amazon.co.uk. It can't be applied to used items or those purchased from third party Sellers on Amazon.co.uk's Marketplace platform. Please note that customers who receive the free Prime trial through their Amazon Family membership are unable to share membership or related benefits such as the Kindle Owners' Lending Library with family members/invitees.

Why do you need the names, ages and dates of birth of my children?

We want to ensure that our exclusive offers and product recommendations are relevant to you. This means we can ensure our Amazon Family homepage highlights the products and information you're interested in, and that our e-mails to you are full of the things you want and need. Any information you provide to us through the Amazon Family membership programme, will be collected, used and stored in accordance with our Privacy Notice and you can update it any time through Your Account.

Amazon Family is limited to one membership per household. It's not possible to share or transfer your Amazon Family membership.

What happens if I join Amazon Family after recently taking part in a free Amazon Prime trial / ending my Amazon Prime membership?

If you have participated in a free Amazon Prime trial or cancelled your Amazon Prime membership, you are not eligible for the three-month free Amazon Prime trial that is part of Amazon Family. However, you can still join Amazon Family and Amazon Prime and receive the following benefits:

  • GBP 10.00 off your first order over GBP 50.00 in our Baby Store
  • At least GBP 50.00 worth of exclusive offers every month
  • A further GBP 25.00 off your first order when you spend GBP 50.00 in our Baby Store at the end of your free trial as a new Amazon Prime member.

My address is outside the UK - what happens if I join Amazon Family?

Some addresses outside mainland UK are not eligible for Amazon Prime. See the "Eligible Purchases" section of the Amazon Prime Terms and Conditions for full eligibility rules. Even if you are not eligible for Amazon Prime Delivery, you are still entitled to avail yourself of the many other benefits of the Amazon Family programme and to save money on family essentials, as well as beauty products, books, clothing and much more.

Why do I have to enter credit card details to sign-up?

You won't be charged at sign-up if you're eligible for a free trial; having your credit card on file will allow us to upgrade your membership automatically to a paid membership plan.  If you're not eligible for a free trial and signing straight up for Amazon Prime, your card will be charged. At the end of the free trial period, this card will be charged GBP 49.00 to allow you to extend your Amazon Prime membership for one year and you will receive a GBP 25.00 promotional code at the end of your free trial to use on your first order when you spend GBP 50.00 in our Baby Store. If you do not want to enter your credit card details when you sign-up, you can still become a Family member and enjoy access to exclusive vouchers, offers and discounts via the Amazon Family homepage and e-mails, but you will not receive the free three-month Amazon Prime trial or GBP 10.00 promotional code welcome benefit.

How do I access my promotional code and vouchers?

Your GBP 10.00 promotional code will automatically be applied to Your Account and available to use on a purchase of GBP 50.00 or more on items sold by Amazon.co.uk in our Baby Store. If applicable, your GBP 25.00 promotional code is automatically applied at the end of your free trial to your account and visible once you place the eligible products in your basket. Family members can browse all the offers available on the Amazon Family Offers page, simply click the offer you would like to use and enter the corresponding code at check-out and the discount will be applied to your total. Can I combine my Amazon Family promotional codes?

The GBP 10.00 off your first order over GBP 50.00 in our Baby Store and the GBP 25.00 off when you spend GBP 50.00 in our Baby Store at the end of your free trial cannot be combined to use as a GBP 35.00 promotional claim code. Please note that these promotional codes are automatically applied to your account and visible once you place the eligible products in your basket. Please read our promotional claim code Terms and Conditions or visit the link included with the promotional offer for the specific restrictions associated with that specific offer.  If you have applied more than one promotional claim code to your order, we'll automatically use the first claim code you have entered.

What is the difference between Your Account and My Membership?

In My Membership you can amend and update the information you provided when you joined Amazon Family, such as the birthdays of your children. You can also cancel your membership from this page. Your Account allows you to make updates to the rest of your Amazon account details such as changing your payment card details or address.

Yes, you can still be a member of Amazon Family without having an Amazon Amazon Prime membership. If you have not enjoyed your free Amazon Prime trial and would prefer not to extend to full membership, simply visit My Membership to opt out. Please note, if you choose to opt out of paid Amazon Prime you will not be eligible to receive an additional GBP 25.00 promotional code to use on your first order when you spend GBP 50.00 in our Baby Store after the free trial period ends.

What if I join paid Amazon Prime after the three-month trial and then change my mind?

If you join the full Amazon Prime membership and decide to cancel your membership at any time before you or your registered household members have made any eligible purchases, we will refund your full membership fee. Please note, if you choose to opt out of paid Amazon Prime you will not be eligible to receive an additional GBP 25.00 promotional code  to use on your first order when you spend GBP 50.00 in our Baby Store after the free trial period ends.

Can I amend my personal information and how will that information be used?

You can amend your personal information relating to Amazon Family at any time by visiting My Membership. All general Amazon information such as a change of address or payment card amendment can be updated via Your Account.

Providing us with information about you and your family helps us to ensure that our offers, discounts and product recommendations are relevant to you. This means that we can ensure our Amazon Family homepage highlights the products and information you are interested in, and that our e-mails to you are full of the things you need. We will contact you by e-mail a maximum of once a week promoting our exclusive offers and a maximum of once per child per month with content that's relevant to your child(ren) to keep you up to date with the latest offers, product launches and information. How do I manage Amazon Family e-mails?

As a member of Amazon Family, we will contact you by e-mail to keep you updated on the latest exclusive offers and product recommendations. If you don't want to receive these e-mails you may cancel your Amazon Family membership by visiting My Membership. This will not affect your other Customer Communication Preferences that can be found onYour Account. Please note, if you cancel your membership within the first three months, you will no longer be eligible for Amazon Prime (including Unlimited One-Day Delivery) and you will no longer have access to Amazon Family vouchers, offers and product recommendations.

How do I cancel my Amazon Family membership?

You can cancel your Amazon Family membership at any time by visiting My Membership. You will no longer have access to Family vouchers, offers and product recommendations, and cancelling your membership within the first three months will mean you are no longer eligible for Amazon Prime. You are welcome to rejoin the Amazon Family programme at any time and as a member you will have access to exclusive offers, vouchers, discounts and product recommendations, although you will not be eligible for new member benefits including the three-month free Amazon Prime trial or GBP 10.00 promotional code when you spend GBP 50.00 in the Baby Store.
