The latest version of Kindle for Android is 4.0. To see what version is on your Android device, press your device Menu button, choose Info, then About. To download the latest version on your Android OS 2.2, search for Kindle in the Google Play Store on your Android device.  

If you are running Android OS 2.1 you can still download Kindle for Android 3.2 from the Google Play Store.

When you first launch Kindle for Android, you'll be asked to enter your Amazon.co.uk account e-mail address and password so you can access your Kindle library and shop in the Kindle store. You can also manage your registration on the Manage Your Kindle page.

How do I switch my Kindle for Android app to landscape mode on my Google Nexus 7 Tablet?

You will need to set the orientation of your Google Nexus 7  to auto-rotate. Here’s how:

1. Swipe down from the top  of the screen to open the notification tray.
2. Tap the rotation lock  icon (a padlock with two arrows curved around it)
3. Press Back – the device  will now switch orientations when rotated.
