How do I view page numbers with Kindle for PC?

Many Kindle books now include real page numbers that correspond directly to a book's print edition, making it easy to reference and cite passages, and read alongside others in a book club or class. If your Kindle book contains page numbers, you'll see page numbers and locations displayed at the bottom of the Kindle for PC window.

What can I read using Kindle for PC?

Most books available for reading on Amazon Kindle can also be read on Kindle for PC. Books that are not available to read on Kindle for PC will display the message "This title is available for Amazon Kindle devices only" on the item detail page on Amazon.co.uk. Periodicals such as newspapers, magazines, and blogs, and personal documents cannot be viewed on Kindle for PC.

How do I download and install Kindle for PC?

You can visit the Kindle for PC installation page to download and install the Kindle for PC application.

You can also visit the Kindle Store on Amazon.co.uk and find a Kindle book you'd like to read. On the detail page for that item, you'll see a link to download the Kindle for PC application. Click the "Available on your PC" link to download the application and follow the prompts from there.

How do I register my PC to my Amazon account?

When you first launch Kindle for PC, you'll be asked to enter your Amazon.co.uk account e-mail address and password so you can access your Kindle library and shop in the Kindle store. Click on the "Tools" menu in the upper left-hand corner of your application and select "Options" in the drop-down menu then "Registration" to see or change your registration. You can also manage your registration on the Manage Your Kindle page.

Can I print or make annotations and highlights on Kindle for PC?

You can make and view highlights and notes in your books using the Kindle for PC application. You can also look up words in the included dictionary, or look up and view Wikipedia articles within the application. The Kindle for PC application doesn't offer the ability to print content or shop from within the application. Text-to-Speech is also not available with the Kindle for PC application.
