What is Release Day Delivery?

When you place a pre-order for an item offering Release Day Delivery and you select either First Class or One-Day Delivery (available for eligible postcodes only), Amazon.co.uk will dispatch your order prior to the release day, with the intention that it arrives with you on the actual release day.

What is eligible for Release Day Delivery?

Release Day Delivery is only available items displaying the Release Day Delivery offer message on their product description pages. Items that do not display the Release day Delivery offer message aren't eligible for this service.

Where is Release Day Delivery available to?

If an item is eligible for Release Day Delivery, Release Day Delivery is available to all UK postcodes by First Class delivery and to eligible postcodes by One-Day delivery, provided you meet the applicable pre-order cut-off date.

What is the cost of Release Day Delivery?

Non-Prime members will be charged for First Class or One-Day delivery, depending on the delivery option selected. Prime members are eligible for Release Day Delivery at no extra cost as part of their annual Prime membership.

How do I place a Release Day Delivery order?

Place an eligible item in your shopping basket and click the Proceed to checkout button.
Select your delivery address
You'll see "get it on its release day" in green next to the available delivery methods. You must select either First Class or One-Day delivery to get Release Day Delivery. If you don't see the message "get it on its release day", your order isn't eligible for Release Day Delivery.
Once it becomes too late to select First Class delivery for Release Day Delivery the green "get it on its release day" message will only appear next to One-Day delivery. See the Terms and Conditions below for further details.
Verify your payment method and complete your order.

Important:

Please ensure that your order only contains the item that is eligible for Release Day Delivery. If you have other items in your Basket, we recommend that you place separate orders for these.
Payment for your pre-order is taken when your item is dispatched to you. If you choose to pay by credit or debit card, please ensure that the expiry date of your payment card is after the release day.
After you place your order, if you cancel items, change your delivery address or delivery options, your order's eligibility for Release Day Delivery may also be affected.

How will my order be delivered?

Orders are dispatched by any one of a selection of carriers, regardless of whether you choose First Class or One-Day delivery.

Although a signature isn't required for most Release Day Delivery items, some deliveries will require a signature and we can't guarantee that our carrier will leave a package at the delivery address if no one is available to accept it. If the package isn't left on your doorstep on the release date, the carrier should leave a note explaining your options for re-delivery or picking up the package at your local Post Office.

Some carriers make deliveries to residential addresses as late as 9pm, so please allow sufficient time for the delivery.

What if the release day changes?

Release days sometimes change. If you've placed a pre-order for an item for Release Day Delivery and the release day changes, we'll notify you of this change by e-mail. Release Day Delivery will still apply to your pre-order.

Important: payment for your pre-order is taken when your item is dispatched to you. If you choose to pay by credit or debit card, please ensure that the expiry date of your card is after the new release day.

When will my order be delivered?

Some carriers make deliveries to residential addresses as late as 9pm, so please allow sufficient time for the delivery.

Orders that are fulfilled by Amazon.co.uk and dispatched via a trackable method will have tracking information available in Your Account.

If tracking information is available and indicates the parcel has been delivered, please check with your neighbours or family members. Parcels are occasionally left with neighbours, or a building manager, or are placed somewhere relatively safe, such as your porch or garage.

If the tracking information indicates the package is being returned to us, or if the address is incorrect, it may have been undeliverable.

What if the release day has passed and I still haven't received my order?

When you place a pre-order for an item offering Release Day Delivery, before the applicable cut-off date and you select either First Class or One-Day delivery Amazon.co.uk will dispatch your order prior to the release day, with the intention that it arrives with you on the actual release day. Unfortunately, sometimes unforeseen delays can occur during the dispatch and delivery process which can delay your order. If your order doesn't arrive on the actual release day, we'll refund your delivery fee. If the release day has passed and your order hasn't arrived, please contact Customer Service.

How do I change my order?

If you need to make changes to your order you should do so no later than four days before the release day if you chose First Class delivery and no later than two days before the release day if you chose One-Day delivery.

Important: if you cancel items or change your delivery address or delivery option, your order's eligibility for Release Day Delivery may be affected.

Release Day Delivery Terms and Conditions

The following restrictions apply to Release Day Delivery eligibility:

Release Day Delivery applies only to items displaying the Release Day Delivery offer message on their product detail pages, where you select First Class or One-Day delivery (available for eligible postcodes only) at checkout. It doesn't apply to items not displaying the Release Day Delivery offer message or if you choose FREE Super Saver Delivery or, where available, Expedited Delivery or Express Delivery.
One-Day Delivery applies only to orders dispatching to eligible postcodes within the United Kingdom.
You must select First Class delivery no later than 4 days before release day to get Release Day Delivery, or One-Day delivery no later than 2 days before release day, to get Release Day Delivery.
