How and when will I be refunded? Most refunds are issued on the payment method used at the time of purchase. In some cases, you may be offered an "Instant refund" option. If you selected to receive an instant Amazon.co.uk Gift Certificate refund, then a credit was instantly added to your Amazon.co.uk Gift Certificate balance for use on your next order. If you selected to receive an instant refund to your original payment method, then a refund was instantly requested. If you placed an order using a credit or debit card then the amount of the refund will show on your credit or debit card statement within 2 to 3 business days This will allow you to use your refund without waiting for your return to process. You will still need to return your items within 30 days. If we do not receive the item(s) after 30 days, we may charge the payment method that was used to place the initial order for the amount that you received for the refund.
Please note, this does not include your bank's processing time. On the date the refund is completed, we'll send you an e-mail message confirming the date, amount, and payment details. You can see completed refunds when you visit Your Account, after receiving this confirmation e-mail. Can I get a refund for something bought on Amazon Marketplace? We can't generate refunds for items purchased from third-party sellers on Marketplace. Only your seller can generate a refund; see Marketplace Returns & Refunds. If you're having difficulty getting a refund from your seller, please see the A-to-z Safe Buying Guarantee. How will my return costs be refunded? If you return something because of an error on our part or because it's damaged or defective, we'll refund the delivery charges incurred in sending the item to you and pay your costs of returning it to us (either by a personalised pre-paid return label or by refunding your return postage costs). We'll also refund the cost of gift-wrapping and other services provided to you in connection with your purchase, where applicable. We'll check all items returned as damaged or defective. In the event we find no fault, we reserve the right to re-charge you for the item/s and to recover our fees and expenses from you. You can use our Online Returns Centre to get this return mailing label. My Payment Card has changed/expired. How do I get a refund?
Amazon.co.uk is required to process all refunds to the original payment method applied when you placed your order, or paid for a subscription. This is the case even if the payment card used has now expired, or your account has been closed or cancelled. Normally, in this case a refund will automatically be processed to the same account. If you have another payment card with the same issuing bank, they can typically apply the refund to your new card. How will I be refunded if I return my item within 30 days?Where you are withdrawing from your purchase between seven and 30 days after delivery (or between seven and 14 days in the case of large electrical items), and there's been no error on our part, we'll refund only the cost of the item. We won't refund the cost of gift-wrapping, delivery or other services provided to you in connection with your purchase. If you use a personalised pre-paid return label, we'll deduct the return postage from your overall refund. How will I be refunded if I return my item within the 7-day "cooling off" period?By law, customers located in the European Union have the right to withdraw from the purchase of an item within seven working days of the day after the date the item is delivered. For more information, see Your Statutory Rights. Where you're withdrawing from your purchase within the seven working day cooling-off period, and there's been no error on our part, we'll refund the cost of the item and the cost of sending the item to you as follows:
How will I be refunded if I return a gift?If you return a gift purchased for you at Amazon.co.uk, you'll receive a gift certificate for the value of your return, which you can use as part or full payment for future purchases from our website. Don't worry; we won't let the person who sent you the gift know about your return. Please remember that normal returns criteria apply unless the return is due to an error on our part. If the return isn't due to an error on our part, the refund won't include the cost of gift-wrapping or other services provided to you in connection with the purchase. The cost of returning the item to us won't be included, unless you are returning shoes that were delivered to an address within the UK. If you received or purchased a gift that was fulfilled by a third-party seller, you will need to contact the seller directly about the return. To return a Marketplace gift or item, please see Arranging Marketplace Returns and Refunds. I haven’t received my refund. What should I do?If five business days have passed since you received a refund confirmation e-mail, please contact us. We will confirm the refund’s status and provide a refund reference number, which your bank can use to track the payment. Returned or rejected refunds will be reissued by Bank Transfer or Gift Certificate. This page describes how we calculate refunds and outlines our policy on gift refunds and gift certificate refunds. Our refunds policy does not affect your statutory rights. |
