The Amazon MP3 team is constantly working to offer you the greatest selection of music available, and our ability to offer music to you in MP3 format is limited by the rights granted to us by the record companies. Currently, not all record companies grant us a license to sell their music for download in the MP3 format free of digital rights management software. You may find tracks or albums available in the CD format that aren't available in the Amazon MP3 Store. You may also find that not all tracks on an album are available to purchase individually. This may be at the request of the artist or due to other contractual reasons with the record labels. We promise to work our hardest to offer you a complete selection of DRM-free music downloads. Supported file typesThe Amazon MP3 Store delivers 256kbps MP3 files. Where possible, we use variable bit rate to optimise the quality and size of music files. Our MP3 format is the most widely compatible music file format and is supported by most media player applications, hand-held music devices, and some CD and DVD players. For more detailed information, please see our Media Formats help page. Amazon Cloud Player and the Amazon MP3 Downloader support either .mp3 or iTunes .m4p files (Non-DRM AAC files).
