Bernard Cornwell has done some good stuff and the original Sharpe stories are "thumping good reads" with a good dose of history thrown in for good measure. Like many a popular writer before him, Mr Cornwell later went into "churn 'em out as fast as possible" mode and I've found some of his more recent work rather disappointing.

Bernard Cornwell is good. Bit gory in places but plenty of series to go at and great characters. Kathy Reichs too (I think someone else mentioned that) and Lee Childs.

Ty Anita I just meant by someone else's house this thread that was thoughtfully set up by its creator. I realize the forums are the public domain of Amazon and the entire public. I just like to be respectful when I visit other threads. I do understand about not self promoting that is why I have not listed the name of mine nor will I do so here. Thank you for the welcome, and just plain L M is fine using my last name is just to formal.

L. M. Boelz: you are not in someone else's house, you are on a public forum, and you have the same rights as anyone else, I'd say. Also - the same duties. The owner of these forums is Amazon, and the rules are set by Amazon - including no self-promotion outside MOA. And if you want to talk - plenty of that is going on here, just look around. Welcome

I was wondering what you meant by another plug until I clicked on a post that had been marked as unhelpful. Hmmm, For me that looked like a definite pitch. I hope I am behaving properly, I would like to stay and get to know you all. My dad used to say, when you are in someone else's house you use your best manners, and play by there rules.

ty Readalot I have gone over a place the link to my book in the appropriate MOA threads. Hopefully someone will like it enough to give it a try. I agree with how annoying it can be to be having a conversation with others and have your email box filled up with flyby plugs. When I am looking for a new book to read I drop in on the post your book here threads to see if anything catches my fancy. Otherwise I like to enjoy a good conversation with others. Ty to you too Sou' Wester for pointing out the links I needed was at the bottom of the page found what I was looking for.
