(this was an accident and not some form of distruction test) I was so upset, my kids brought this for me for a Christmas present. Although the mainainance man was dispatched to recover the Kindle, I truely thought that if it was recovered, it would be in a hundred pieces. What can I say... not only is it in one piece but it is fully functioning, just a bit bashed. I'm so impressed. Well done Amazon/Kindle you've actually made something that doesn't break when you blow on it... you should have a chat to the people at Apple

Reply to this post.

Kindle Daily Deal 16_05_2012

Vespasian - Executioner of Rome.I read the first part of this and have been waiting for the price to come down - this is a real bonus (£1.29). As far as I can see, on the Kindle itself, you can only delete one book at a time. Deleting a Collection simply puts all the books on the home page where they will still need to be deleted a book at a time.I'm guessing that the only way to delete books in bulk is to connect the Kindle to your PC and the use the standard operations in Windows Explorer to select the books and then press the Delete button. I'm assuming that as well as the azw (or mobi or pdf etc) files you will need to select any ancillary files of the same name.Presumably the above method would leave any books archived at Amazon untouched.Details of any other methods will be gratefully received.

Reply to this post.

Can Anyone Recommend...

Some background music to put on my Kindle? Thank you very much :-)

Reply to this post.

Florence Elizabeth Maybrick wife of James Maybrick

James Maybrick died in Liverpool and his wife was charged, tried and found guilty of murdering him. Not sure.Product DescriptionThe body of a young woman is found walled up in the basement of an old Edinburgh mansion. A prominent local figure is brutally murdered. An illegal immigrant cuts his throat in a city centre pub. As violence descends upon the city, Detective Inspector McLean must think the unthinkable. An ancient evil has been freed, and only if he accepts that it can exist will he be able to stop it.----When Edinburgh police find the killer of a prominent city elder less than twenty-four hours after the crime, they are justifiably pleased. So the murderer has killed himself; that just saves the time and cost of a trial. But a second murder days later bears haunting similarities to the first, even though once more the murderer swiftly confesses and kills himself.Detective Inspector Anthony McLean is investigating the discovery of a dead girl, walled up in the basement of an old Edinburgh mansion. She has been brutally murdered, her internal organs removed and placed around her in six preserving jars. The evidence suggests this all happened over sixty years ago, an attempt to re-enact an ancient ceremony that by trapping a demon in the dead girl's body would supposedly confer immortality on the six men who took one of her organs each.McLean's grandmother - the woman who raised him after his parents were killed when he was a young boy - dies after months in a coma following a stroke. On top of this he has to investigate a series of unusual, violent suicides and a cat-burglar who targets the homes of the recently dead. But as another prominent Edinburgh businessman is killed, he begins to suspect that there may be a connection between the murders, the suicides and the ritual killing of the girl found in the basement. The same names keep cropping up. He just can't find a rational explanation as to how that connection works. As he digs deeper, and as the coincidences stack up, McLean is forced to consider an irrational explanation. Could there really be something evil stalking the city he has sworn to protect? And if so, how on earth can he hope to stop it?

Reply to this post.

Can't read when plugged into USB

Hi there, I have tried ejecting my Kindle from the PC but leaving the cable attached to charge it. Since Amazon asks customers for feedback regarding the Kindle (Touch) 'experimental' features, here are my suggestions:- improve the music player: the mp3 player software is too crude- font settings should be relative to the the screen, not the default font size of the book. What I mean is that once I set my comfortable font size and style, I would like to have it for all books on my Kindle, and not to have to adjust fonts for each book I buy- give the option to have X-Ray when WiFi is on: now if my wifi is on, I have 'Sync' for the third bottom button instead of 'X-Ray'- provide the option to keep the top status bar (showing book title, battery and wifi status, and time) while reading- would be nice to be able to adjust the sensitivity of the touch gestures (sometimes my Touch skips several pages instead of one)More feedback will follow, but these suggestions would be easy and quick to implement.

Reply to this post.

Open up web sites

Kindle touch: have have a 3G Kindle touch and it will not open up the web pages/ e-mails etcAnyone know why?

Reply to this post.

Open up web sites

Kindle touch: have have a 3G Kindle touch and it will not open up the web pages/ e-mails etcAnyone know why?

Reply to this post.

Book Gifting

It's available in the US.
