Hi Matt, oooo I've just discovered your work (smiles with glee) and as an extreme horror fan myself (and very impressed with your work I must say) and as an author myself who writes in several different genres, I feel that you have to write what YOU want to write and what type of genre brings YOU the most satisfaction and inner happiness and if your horror work is going very well I'd stick to that if I were you, but then again, if you feel you want to write more comedy then you have the flexibility to do that too and you'll have two different types of readers then - one type may read your horror and not read comedy, the other type may prefer your comedy as they might not like horror, or you'll get readers who enjoy reading both genres. Either way, it's all good. Hopefully, other readers will reply here and will provide their thoughts in response to your question too.
We write not only for ourselves but for readers too, so deciding in which genre to write next can be difficult, but it can be easy too if you go primarily with your gut instinct and what you feel you want to do the most. I have a tendency to write mostly horror because that's my favourite genre to write in, but now and again I choose to write comedy or thrillers or paranormal stories too as variety is the spice of life as the saying goes.
I don't quite know what else to say in response to your question, but I do hope you continue writing more horror as I'm about to start purchasing your books! :-D
Long live horror I say. I love the way you write; that you pepper your stories with much suspense, a damn good storyline too and your writing ability is excellent. I haven't read your comedy work yet but I will. Keep up the good work. I'll recommend your books to my friends.
