I heard this morning that notes about Hemingway's A Farewell to Arms showed a number of alternative endings. John Fowles, of course, gave alternatives for the ending for The French Lieutenant's Woman within the book. I found that extremely irritating. I think the writer should make up his/her mind and stick to it. I was equally irritated with the two endings of TV Series, Frost. I wonder what others think.
