ARRAY(0xadd6c438) Audience Award

We teamed up with the British Academy of Film and Television to sponsor the first-ever Audience Award at the 2001 BAFTA Interactive Entertainment Awards and you selected the overall winner Championship Manager 00/01 . The grand prize was a trip for two to the Awards Ceremony at the prestigious Grosvenor House Hotel on October 25, 2001. There were also five runner-up prizes of a selection of the shortlisted games including Escape from Monkey Island, Who Wants to be a Millionaire and the award-winning Championship Manager 00/01.

It was a close run thing until the end with the majority of the votes being split between Championship Manager, Black & White and Gran Turismo 3 (all of which won BAFTA awards on the night). The Sports Interactive team were delighted to have won an award especially one voted for by the people who actually play the game. Miles Jacobson, Managing Director of Sports Interactive said, "As a wise man once said, 'football management isn't about algorithms and artificial intelligence, it's about getting it right on the day'. This award, which was voted for in a large part by our enormous and active community of users, proves that we have been getting it right for years."
