4.0 out of 5 stars Great product, great value, 22 May 2013

I needed a basic stand mixer and thought I was going to have to pay at least £250 for something with a hefty motor. The Andrew James 1500 is more powerful than anything else I found, does exactly what it says on the tin and looks great in the kitchen. The build quality is good too, it looks like it will last forever.

Just one small complaint. The mixer bowl has 3 holes in the bottom of its base, which fill the base with water when you wash it. If you drain the bowl upside down, as you normally would, the base stays full of water, which pours all over you when you pick it up and turn it the right way up. You have to drain it both ways up before putting it back on the mixer. Obviously designed by someone who never does the washing up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfection, 7 Nov 2009
This review is from: Live In London (Audio CD)
I saw this tour in Birmingham, it was the most perfect show I have ever seen. Leonard Cohen's presence is unbelievable, even in an arena it feels so intimate. His performance was amazing, as are the songs, and the band is just brilliant. Flawless.

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential Hendrix, 18 Jan 2008
This review is from: Live At Fillmore East (Audio CD)
Band of Gypsys has always been my favourite Hendrix album, and this expanded set from the same performances at the Filmore is even better. The sound quality is spot on and the rhythm section of Buddy Miles and Billy Cox keep Hendrix grounded and yet give him more space in a way that The Experience never did. Stunning, beautiful, powerful. One of the finest live performances ever recorded.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just upgraded my life with a nano!, 18 Nov 2006

I'm hooked. All my music at home is in iTunes, I take it with me on my iPod and I've replaced the CD changer in my car with an ice-Link unit that my iPod drops into. The new nano is a stunning product in every way, but be aware that accessories for the 1st generation iPod are not all compatible with it.

1.0 out of 5 stars What a missed opportunity, 7 Sep 2006
I looked forward to this release more than anything for ages. This guy is a legend, and having seen his occasional appearances over the years, I know he's still got it. This album is just cashing in on the celebrity duet craze, though - it's over produced plastic pop from one end to the other. I'm seriously disappointed.

2.0 out of 5 stars Bland, 13 April 2006

This review is from: On An Island (Audio CD)
From a guy who was an essential component of some of the greatest stuff ever recorded, this is disappointing. He's still very musical, but the fire has gone out. This is a bland CD that just doesn't hold my attention. If you want some classic Gilmour, go and listen to Wish You Were Here or Dark Side of the Moon.

I saw this show twice and if you had nothing to compare it to, you'd think it was pretty good. Don't even think about buying this, though, until you've got Secret World - Live. It is so much better than this it's hard to realise it's the same performer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just buy it., 4 Dec 2005

The best Peter Gabriel show ever. Absolutely superb. The show builds from start to finish and just doesn't let up. The band is incredible, not least Manu Katche, who was sadly missed on the Growing Up tour. One of the best shows I've been to and one of the best live music DVDs I've seen.

This is probably my all time favourite Stones album. It starts of with an absolutely classic opener and doesn't let up. Buy it.
