Slow in OS X 10.8, 28 Aug 2012
I bought the 256GB version of this drive to replace the 250GB HDD in my mid-2010 MacBook Pro running Mountain Lion. I contacted Kingston who told me it had reasonable not aggressive Garbage Collection and would be suitable for my Mac OS (where TRIM officially can't be enable for non-Apple SSDs).
As somebody else wrote on here, in the Mac it was ridiculously slow. Constantly getting the spinning colour wheel when trying to click on simple things like the Apple menu, spotlight menu, anything. Every time I tried to make a procedure call.
It would boot ridiculously quickly (my mac is a SATA-2 so although there are faster SATA-3 drives it would make no difference in theory). As I value a usable system I sent it back.
Put the original HDD back in and even without a clean install it's much faster and happier (well, not faster to boot but it actually DOES what it's supposed to when the OS is loaded).
