I probably spent too little, but I find that this ball-head barely holds the weight of my Canon 600 flash units and slips regularly. It certainly won't take the weight of the flash with any form of light modifier attached. It seems well enough made, and I may get some limited use from it, but it doesn't reliably hold my flash firmly.

4.0 out of 5 stars Almost excellent - just needs clearer instructions for advanced settings., 11 Jun. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I love it. For me, even though I haven’t worked out everything I’ll do with it, it’s intuitively obvious that it’s a good thing to be able to easily and almost instantly get photos from your good camera to your iStuff, laptop, desktop and Cloud for various types of onward use.

It was literally working in ‘transfer all’ mode to my iPhone in a couple of minutes, and to have such quality photos from my Canon 5D Mark 3 ready even just to e-mail so quickly was great.

Admittedly, I found the instructions less clear when it came to making the ‘Advanced Settings’ changes to enable selective transferring. From some helpful YouTubes, I knew how to set my camera to my desired configuration of writing RAWs to my Compact Flash and Small JPEGs to the Eye-Fi card. Then you set Playback to be from the Eye-Fi card and, if the card is configured properly, you can use the camera’s Rate button to Protect selected images, and then only those transfer. But such Advanced Settings can only be changed from the ‘desktop’ App. After loading the desktop App, I was confronted by a message saying I was out of luck because I had no WiFi (it’s a wired desktop, and not the only one in the world, I imagine). I was also invited to activate my Eye-Fi card again. In hindsight, it seems that if you just ignore these steps and simply plug your Eye-Fi card into your desktop, you will indeed be able to a) select ‘selective transfer’ and b) add your home WiFi as an option for the transferring when your camera and iStuff are at home, and this is extremely useful as it avoids you having to continually swap your iStuff between your home WiFi and Eye-Fi’s own WiFi (quite a mouthful). It looks like you can add other WiFi networks that might be available where you are taking photos, or at least when you are ready to transfer photos – very useful.

One tip – it may only apply to dual-card Canon users. If you set Playback to be from the Eye-Fi Card and remove the card for any reason and if you switch the camera on again before reinstalling the Eye-Fi card, the camera (at least the 5D3) will revert to Playback from the Compact Flash card. You will have to manually reset when you reinstall the Eye-Fi.

So – great tool and works well. It’s also great value, given what you’d spend for just a card of that capacity.

I give it a 4 instead of a 5, just because I think the more advanced instructions could be more intuitive.

Steven

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect! As other reviewers have also experienced, 31 Oct. 2014

Perfect! As other reviewers have also experienced, I wasted so much time and money on complicated alternative products, some cheaper and others much more expensive, but this one just pligs in and works perfectly without ANY set-up. Another reminder to buy from companies who know their stuff. Perfect.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stunning, 10 Jun. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Well - I'm a huge fan of The Who and of Quadrophenia, and was always going to love this release, but the quality of the Blu-ray is way beyond even my expectations. The sound is stunning, with incredible detail clearly audible from all musicians. The editing of the mix between the on-stage performances and the projected visual images, which this version of the show is famous for, is also superb. The packaging of the various discs (the Blu-ray, the DVD, the CDs of the live concert and the 5.1 surround version of the live show) is also delightful.

Who fans 'must' and probably will have or get this package, but anyone intrigued by The Who's contribution to music and live performance over the last 50 years couldn't pick a better 'sample'.

Great show and great presentation of it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Excellent mouse, OK keyboard, but software crashes when e-mail arrives, 28 April 2006
For me, the Bluetooth works and there are no problems with response times. In particular, the laser mouse is outstanding. The main problem is that the Setpoint software which drives the special keys on the keyboard crashes every time I receive an e-mail in Outlook. Logitech say that this is a known problem that they are working on.

4.0 out of 5 stars An excellent record of a unique show, 28 Feb. 2002
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Before reviewing this DVD, it's important to understand the background to the show. Pete Townshend has had the 'Lifehouse' idea for over 30 years. Many of the songs intended for the project became classics on other albums, such as 'Who's Next', but Lifehouse was never delivered as it was originally conceived. This DVD captures the essence of the 2 shows that Pete put together with a band comprising of some of the excellent musicians he has worked with in relatively recent years and with the London Chamber Orchestra at London's Sadler's Wells theatre. The cover of the DVD accurately informs that these shows represented a 'celebration of the music of Lifehouse rather than the culmination of the project'. This said, and noting that I was in the audience for one of the shows, the DVD is indeed an excellent, if partial, record - unfortunately all but one of the superb orchestral pieces in the original show were dropped from the DVD as was one of the songs ('Who Are You'). Picture and sound quality are superb and the presentation provides an intimate, on-stage insight to the performance. For fans of Townshend's work and of The Who's versions of these songs, this DVD provides an opportunity to see and hear the material in a truly unique format. It's a must buy, but it's a pity that you don't get the whole show.

5.0 out of 5 stars A stunning performance with superb sound & picture quality., 28 Sept. 2001
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
First let me say that I am undoubtedly a Who fan - ~25 concerts over the last 30 years, 6 of them in the 12 months preceding this show (which unfortunately I did not attend). I am also fortunate to have a fairly good DTS, surround-sound system. This said, this DVD is stunning on all levels - a superb performance by the band, exceptional camera work, outstanding picture quality, a sound experience that about as close to being there as you are going to get and finally, a great list of special features in Disc 2, including a 7-angle version of Pinball Wizard.
It's hard to pick out highlights. The band's ability to get 'into it' within the opening bars of the opening song has always been impressive and no more so than in this show. All the classics are 'classic'. Bargain and Relay are particularly strong. Nigel Kennedy is the first guest on a superb Baba O'Riley. Pete's solo efforts on Drowned and Heart To Hang On To are exhilarating. The whole of 5.15 is 'nuts', but John's bass solo is just breathtaking. The guests, in my opinion, add variety to the show and perform very well and with obvious delight about being part of the experience.
For Who fans, this DVD is an obvious must - an impeccable capture of 'recent Who' (which is 'great Who' in my view). For DVD fans, it's a treat for your viewing/listening room. But for anyone who appreciates the rock/popular music of the last 3 decades or so, here is a chance to see what the 'Who thing' has been about.
Buy it.
