4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent DVD Presentation of an Interesting Movie, 8 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is an interesting Polish medieval epic. Though a largely straightforward, romantic film it has (like many Eastern European counterparts) an edge not seen in American and British historical films of the time. The film presents a picture of the medieval world that is both politically complex and violently brutal. Being an Eastern film from this epic it also takes a few jibes at the "West" but this is not too overt, it does not feel like a propaganda film.

DVD --- This particular DVD has excellent picture quality. The transfer is bright and clean and has benefited from the dramatic restoration depicted in the restoration before and after featurette. The Polish audio is also clear and strong with good English subtitles (I don't speak Polish but they seem accurate with only 1 or 2 typos in the whole film.)

All in all an excellent DVD and a fine historical epic.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good overview of an interesting artist, 16 April 2009
This collection gives a nice intro to Ricky Nelson's post- pop or country rock career. He has a plesant voice and is backed professionally by the Stone Canyon Band. It's a good listen and interesting point in the history of country rock music. Tracks include some very nice Dylan covers, Honky Tonk Woman by the Stones and the self-written highlights Garden Party and Palace Guard.
