An engaging plot with intriguing characters. Developing relationships if you are familiar with the series. Some sadness as well for animal lovers- has it all really!

5.0 out of 5 stars up to standard, 15 Mar. 2014

I love this series. Gruesome plot line but well written and gripping. Police characters flawed and so very interesting.
Highly recommended but read the series from the start to see how they all develop.

This book is an evocative account of relationships in a complex world . The main character is not particularly sympathetic but that's why the story works so well.
The book encompasses the full range of emotions and totally believable.

5.0 out of 5 stars well written historical novel, 15 Feb. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Based on the facts at the start of the wars of the roses, focussing on the arrival of Margaret of Anjou and her marriage to King Henry. Sets the scene very well for the tensions between York and Lancaster. Extremely well written. Compelling reading- looking forward to sequel. Thoroughly recommend if you are interested in this period of history.

Frankie: The Autobiography of Frankie Dettori
Frankie: The Autobiography of Frankie Dettori
Price: £4.05

3.0 out of 5 stars Candid account, 15 Feb. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
As with many sports autobiographies there is a lot of repetition about the wins and losses - inevitable really given the nature of the career; but it does get a little tedious. Having said that this is a candid description of the life of a highly competitive rider . The flaws of character come through but so too do the strengths and humanity. In the end you like what you like about him and ignore the rest.

This case holds the Blackberry securely. Because of the lilac colour and bling effect I am in no danger of losing it and can find it easily in bottom of bag!
A very good buy.

3.0 out of 5 stars A fair read, 26 Jan. 2014

Sympathetic characters. The plot line a little obvious in places, and some of the technicalities regarding the will dubious, but written well enough to keep you engaged.

The character of AP McCoy comes through so strongly in this autobiography. An example of a driven and determined man . Initially was not a totally sympathetic character but by the end admired his guts and determination so successful storytelling.

Fair plot. Reasonable location.
Characters neat but lacking in real depth and a little out of period
