5.0 out of 5 stars No escape., 17 Jun. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
By a long shot an outstanding
history on the unfortunate fate of this
family. An easy and exciting read.
This book is very well researched.
Almost a century ago this event of
barbarity took place and yet today
continues to evoke major interest.
Very many reasons to read and
vivid to the end.

The life of Ian Fleming
The life of Ian Fleming
by John Pearson
Edition: Hardcover

5.0 out of 5 stars The making of James Bond., 17 Jun. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
As good a read throughout on the personality of
a second son. That is only one early aspect to it.
However James Bond as the future character
shines off the pages. Pearson knew Fleming well
and brought much to life in this biography on him
and readers of James Bond books should find an
entertaining insight to his creator. Only my view,
and I found it a terrific read.

one of those books that holds your attention until the final sentence. a truly gripping account of the sinking of a u.s navy ship in 1945 and its consequences. a splendid read throughout and written by a fine writer too.
