5.0 out of 5 stars Lots of odd and funny bits of information about all the families, 30 Sept. 2014
Bought one for my Mum's upcoming bday as she loves the series. I have to say that the book is HILARIOUS! Lots of odd and funny bits of information about all the families, pictures from their past, stories about how they met etc... just lots of fun things, all presented with nice illustrations. I still have a week before my mum's bday - hope it doesn't look to worn by then!

5.0 out of 5 stars A lovely read, 4 Dec. 2013
This book is a lovely read. It is warm and funny and... just lovely. It tells the story of George's and Gina's unlikely friendship using several distinct voices, all told with both humour and emotion. In both George's and Gina's case, the story is really about finding themselves and building a happier life for themselves, despite being in very different stages of life. It's an interesting comparison using characters so different, yet similar, to each other to show their different life stories. I particularly liked the depiction of Christopher, and the focus on how life can change even when you are getting on in life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Giggles, 3 Dec. 2013
I got this book in a Christmas bundle from the publisher (freightbooks.co.uk) together with 'In Rude Health' and '101 Uses for a Dead Kindle' - great little selection, especially at the discounted price! Got them to fill some Christmas stockings but will keep at least one for myself. 'If Dogs Could Swear' is hilarious, although at times really rather crude. Each page has an illustration of a different kind of dog in a normal situation - but a situation that becomes anything but normal when we are privy to the dog's insolent thoughts! Highly recommend to anyone who likes dogs and the odd profanity.

Would recommend this bundle on the publishers website instead/as well but they don't have a comments function...

5.0 out of 5 stars Charming, 26 July 2013
I thought this was a charming book. It was easy to read and a page-turner, mixing serious topics with humour. I'll be interested in seeing if there are any other books by this author. I'd highly recommend reading it!
