1.0 out of 5 stars Cheap and awkward, 19 Jan 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
You get what you pay for. The pen is a very cheap construction, I like the fine nib but the squeeze-fill reservoir is extremely tedious and temperamental to operate and it is almost impossible to see how much ink you have actually managed to coax in to the pen. A shame as it is actually not too bad to write with.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing for the price, 17 Nov 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Having used a variety of low and high-end gel pens I have been extremely disappointed with this Cross Click. I wanted the clickable aspect of the pen, and also one that wouldn't leak or break in my back pocket. The construction of the pen is very good and the slim body design is appealing. However, the main function of the pen is writing and I feel that the pen is hugely let down by the inconsistent ink flow and relatively broad nib. I am now regretting not simply buying a couple of boxes of disposable Pentel pens instead.

4.0 out of 5 stars Framing the British Surfer's Experience, 30 Aug 2007
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I have just finished this book and have to say, as a novice surfer, I found it to be a great snapshot, not only of the current state of British surfing and charters on the scene, but also the history of the sport around the UK. I thought that Alex Wade gave an insightful introduction to the frustrations and potential for UK surfers - And from my (fledgling) experience I can completely relate to the relentless and addictive optimism with which surfers in the UK will watch the weather and water just for the opportunity to experience even the briefest of quality rides. Backed up by Nelson and Taylor's 'Surfing UK', I've also used this book to give myself target areas to visit, not just to tackle as my surfing improves but also for the opportunity to witness some great waves and waves riders... if I'm lucky enough to be there on the right day!

5.0 out of 5 stars Timelessly Cool Mellow Hip-hop, 24 July 2007
This review is from: Headz II (Audio CD)
This is Mo Wax at it's best. The tracks on this double album provide a kind of ambient backdrop that you will tune in and out of. Along with the companion set, Headz volume 2b, these tunes are a classic addition to any Mo Wax collection.

4.0 out of 5 stars An intriguing and tantalising tapestry of tales., 17 Sep 2001
This review is from: Life, A Users Manual (Paperback)
This a expansive and complex book which offers teasing threads of tales and related imagery through a breadth of history and location, whilst remaining a snap shot of an instant in a single Parisian building. At the close, the sense is that there are many deeper puzzles to be solved within the layers of the work as a whole, which can leave the reader feeling unfulfilled. With the luxury of time, it would be fascinating to see if there were more to discover there than meets the eye initially.
