2.0 out of 5 stars Yes it is disappointing, 3 May 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I echo the review "A bit disappointing..., 26 Dec. 2014"

Yes it is disappointing, there were a good number of 5 star reviews so i ordered it without checking the lesser reviews (which are often more useful and informative)
This book describes some macro equipment.
Contains some excellent images.
No real info or examples of how they were produced.
This is a basic introduction to digital photography with a leaning towards close-up and macro.
I returned it and Amazon quickly refunded my payment.

2.0 out of 5 stars Floor cleaning cloths not available!, 17 Jan. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I chose to buy this upper end model to take advantage of the double tank meaning less refilling, quicker warmup time, higher steam pressure etc. I was wrong!

I needed a tool like this to clean floor tile grout and for general hard floor cleaning. A quick test on stained grout with the supplied detail brush had some effect, but I had read up and also ordered brass wire brushes, which did a better job, although not perfect. Turning attention to general floor cleaning, across half the floor it was promising, leaving a good level of cleaning without the wetness of mop and bucket. BUT- with 2 large dogs I soon needed to change the cloth. The cleaner was supplied with just 1 micro fibre floor cloth and 1 hand nozzle cloth, I anticipated a shortage and also ordered a pack of 5 cloths which were listed as "compatible with all models". The didn't fit!

I couldn't finish cleaning the floors without stopping to launder the only supplied cloth! The cleaner uses a new design of floor nozzle called Comfort Plus, it is slimmer, lighter and makes changing cloths quick and easy. Changing cloths would have been nice on it's first trial on my tiled kitchen floor, Take a look at the photo- this uses a new cloth with pouches at each end into which the drop down ends of the nozzle slide, then lock into place without the need for folding, clipping etc.

A look at the packaging of the spare cloths showed that they are not listed as compatible with the SC5.800
The items needed are specified in the cleaners instructions with a Karcher part number. An internet search and contacting Karcher's customer services was fruitless and lead to the same basic cloths as those i already tried. The machine is supplied with a floor cleaning nozzle for which spare cloths are not yet available and a job can't be completed!

The older nozzle is available as a spare at an additional outlay, but after what I spent on the cleaner, I'm not buying more. I'm about to recover the packaging and if cloths don't soon become available, it will be returned.

To sum up- The machine as supplied is unsuitable for the job of cleaning a floor, spare cleaning cloths are not available. Don't buy this specific model with the Comfort Plus floor nozzle unless you are sure that spare micro fibre cloths are also available.

Karcher order No 2.863.020

2.0 out of 5 stars NOT FOR ALL Karcher steam cleaners!, 16 Jan. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I purchased a pack of these as extra spares at the same time as ordering the Karcher SC5.*** The Amazon product description states "Compactible with all Kärcher Steam cleaners (Excluding SC952)".

These DONT fit the Karcher SC5 cleaner, which is not listed with the compatible cleaners on the cloth packaging.
The floor tool of the SC5 is slim, the ends still fold down to mount a cloth, but when flattened out, there is insufficient space to grip one of these. Karcher provided 1 micro fibre cloth with the machine, this has sewn in pockets at each end into which the folded down floor tool ends slip and click into place.

They could be cut, edged, sewn up with pockets etc and made to fit if one is handy with a sewing machine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent choice for travel, 9 Sept. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This was purchased for a holiday to Hawaii in which much photography was anticipated, my priority for bag choice was compliance with airline carry-on baggage size limits, whilst having capacity for an SLR with 3 lenses, filters, and other accessories (the tripod had to be transported in hold baggage during the flights). This bag was just a tiny bit deeper than the official limit but squeezed down easily and gave me no problems.

It is a bright and modern design and in use I loved the ability to drop the shoulder straps and get fast and easy access to contents by rotating the bag around on the waist strap, meaning I was less prone to pushing a fitted lens to it's limits instead of swapping for the perfect item in the bag. This easy access also meant that I was less likely to remove the bag, and possibly take my eye off it when being drawn into a session of snapping. The closed main compartment access provided a flat surface on which items could be rested during lens or filter changes etc. The arrangement of having the main access against the body when being carried also provided protection from possible dipping etc.

My holiday included walks up mountains and across lava flows, the option of adding a hydration bladder to one of the side pouches made water easily available without stopping, this however, only had sufficient capacity for 1- 1.5 Ltr, meaning that when additional water was needed, it took up one of the lens storage divisions or was attached to shoulder strap hardware with a small carabiner.

The other side pouch provided well designed, stable and convenient tripod carriage to and from sites of interest. Once again, the convenience meant that a tripod was always taken and frequently used.

Negative points and other concerns-

Very few, My equipment is Canon and I always carried the lens hoods for the 3 lenses, these are large in diameter and the compact dimensions of the bag meant that if stored reversed on the lens, they caused a little distortion of the internal divisions, meaning that a some thought had to go into their arrangement, or an additional division could be used to store these off lens.

The useful feature of access to the contents with the bag rotated downwards on the waist strap applies a kind of downwards tearing force to the upper points where the waist strap is stitched to the bag and I wonder if continued, frequent use of this feature while carrying heavy lenses etc would lead to eventual fraying. Two weeks of almost daily use hasn't revealed any damage but maybe some additional reinforcement could be included at the main stress points.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well above average, 23 Aug. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
My fiancee has outstanding nails, which means they need care and attention. I could see that with less than perfect eyesight, this was becoming difficult, and she just didn't enjoy the process. I knew that a magnifying lamp would help tremendously and proceeded to search the web. Lens size/quality and lighting quality were obvious priorities, but probable use would be at her dressing table, around which there was little free floor space; this meant that bulk, flexibility and overall size were also important. Lots of affordable results were found, but many of these had disproportionally large lighting units or very small lenses in relation to the head size.

I've got to say that this is the perfect item!
A solid, but compact base with smooth lines and the option of varying hight by using it with or without the solid poles provides security and stability either on the floor of the lounge, or on the dressing table without stealing too much space. The lamp head is also slim, compact and pleasantly designed, with a flexible stem which can be attached directly to the base for table top use, it holds a generously sized 2X magnifying lens, which is surrounded by lots of bright LEDs with a close colour match to daylight. The unit is left on the dressing table, and looks as if it belongs there.

Power is provided either by a low voltage mains adapter, or by clipping a supplied battery housing to the poles, which would make this easily portable around the house without trailing leads to mains sockets. The latter is my only criticism, the battery housing is a square box with a trailing supply lead, which detracts from the clean design. Perhaps the weight of batteries could have been put to use by incorporating them into the base.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not for all of us!, 4 July 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
In-ear phones like these depend on a very good seal of the "gel" inside the ear canal, We all vary in shape, size etc, that includes the internal dimensions of ear canals.

As a previous S4i owner, I fitted the same large sized gels and was eagerly anticipating something special during my first listening with these top line phones. I was disappointed, volume was low, sound was weak and washed out, with no depth or warmth. The largest gels were too small, even with the X10's inserted deeply into my ear canals, they sounded awful and wouldn't remain in place. I immediately repacked the X10's for return. Amazon refunded the costs without question.

All the tips supplied by Klipsch appear to be too small across the range. If you know you require large tips, then I urge you to try before you buy. I later improved the fit of a new pair of S4i's by replacing the original gels with Comply TX100 foam tips (large) Comply TX-100 Foam Replacement Eartips - Large (3 Pairs), Perhaps these would help potential buyers or those who already own in-ear phones which are a loose fit.

Crown PlayStation Move Eye Camera Clip (PS3)
Crown PlayStation Move Eye Camera Clip (PS3)
Offered by total digital stores
Price: £3.25

1.0 out of 5 stars Not Great, 21 Jan. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The Crown Eye camera clip needs re-designing to make it compatible with newer thin TV's, the camera is a snug and secure fit in the top of the clamp but the assembled unit doesn't grip onto a slim TV, it leans backwards, pointing the camera upwards.
The clamp is adjustable and reversible, but in the reversed position, the curved profile of the clamp still prevents it from gripping securely. The Eye camera has just sufficient downwards tilt adjustment to allow it to work.

It's cheap, it does the job, but isn't recommended for those who like clean fitting devices.
