5.0 out of 5 stars A masterpiece in hardcore., 7 April 2014

Seems to be overlooked but an incredible album. Not sure much of what they did lived up to it afterwards. There are some great moments on Betty, but Meantime start to finish is an unflinching statement of a band single-mindedness that set the bar high for any band that may try to follow. Excellent timeless lyrics, sound and song writing.

Couple of slow spots where it loses pace. Nice to hear these songs whilst they were still fresh for moz and the band. National front disco stand out song on the album as well as all the songs from your arsenal.

5.0 out of 5 stars Still amazing a band at the peak of their creativity. No one writes lyrics like phil., 7 April 2014

The live extra bootleg cd is incredibly raw with very little mixing going on. Good to hear the energy and brutality of the band and how they played live.

1.0 out of 5 stars How I found religion., 29 April 2013

I was excited to read this book by Dave about Dave. Sadly he has left out all the good stuff. He refuses to talk about sacking any band members and how and why he has written any of the songs that he has.
Anyone who has listened to metal throughout the years will have a certain amount of time for Dave, however him writting his own book seems to be a missed opportunity.
Rather than this being a book about a life in metal it's more of a 'my life was bad and then I found jesus' book.
I felt sorry that through buying his music throughout the years I had contributed to his life of misery and now through reading this book Dave has contributed to mine.

This is brilliant. Best book i'd read in ages and would recommend it to... well almost anyone. The main character is amazingly full on and there are some american psycho-esque scenarios that are pretty harsh.
Anyone who writes or plays music should read this book.
An incredible comment on how the record companies worked and their attitudes towards music and artists.

I think I heard one tune on radio six and read a good review when these guys were flavour of the afternoon.
Sadly the album doesn't live up to expectations.
The guy just moans. It's not even good moaning. This is coming from someone who really likes the cure and morrissey. This guy moans in the way that one of your mates just wont shut up and goes on and on. Urgh, his voice!!!
Not touched the album again in ages, wish I'd never bought it. Thanks radio 6.

Better than the dirt.
Mick Wall is a fantastic writer and was there when the wheels were in motion and then subsequently came off all together.
Excellent rock journalism.
Great read.
Axl is a strange man.
It's good to be reminded of the context this all happened in. A period of rock history, and indeed our lives, that most of us choose to forget.
At that time, when the right man for the job was needed, it could only have been Axl Rose.
