Got this on advice from an online digital video site but it doeswn't seem to be any better than the built-in microphone on my iPhone. Wouldn't recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great little gadget, 18 Sep 2012
I have had this gadget for over two years now and use it regularly. It is really useful for small quantities of breadcrumbs, nuts and other things that you don't want to get a big mixer out for. It's sturdy, neat and doesn't take up much space. Especially good for single or small families like ours. Highly recommend it.

Dangerous Waters: Mystery, Loss and Love on the Island of Guernsey
Dangerous Waters: Mystery, Loss and Love on the Island of Guernsey
by Anne Allen
Edition: Paperback
Price: £5.99

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Guernsey read, 13 July 2012
Having booked a few days in Guernsey, I wanted to read a book set on the island and this came my way... so glad it did. It's a thoroughly enjoyable book with an interesting plot and characters to keep you wanting to find out what happens next. The author clearly knows her history and the back story of German Occupation love story links pleasurably with present day intrigue. The island is sympathetically reflected by the author's narrative and there are some neat little twists and turns to engage the reader. I was also impressed to see it in many book shops and tourist attractions so clearly the locals enjoy it too!

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply funny!, 7 May 2012

Bought this as a present for my brother who is a huge Billy C fan. I watched it with him and laughed aloud - need I say more? His humour is a bit 'bluer' than on TV but so clever and quick - love it.

OtterBox Impact Case for iPhone 4 - Yellow

4.0 out of 5 stars VERY yellow & sturdy, 7 May 2012

Whatt you see is what you get - a VERY yellow & sturdy cover for iPhone. It's great as a strong protective case but it was too bright and heavy for me. Hence only 4 stars - nothing wrong with the product, just not for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Train heaven, 7 May 2012

Went on a train trip to Switzerland earlier this year and took this book with me. Great resource for our Jungfrau journey which is even better than I imagined. Loved the Glacier Express section - recommend travelling first class if at all possible! The facts and figures are presented in an interesting way and it does tempt me to return another time to try some more journeys. I think we took about 8 trains in Switzerland and they were ALL on time and spotless. This country is train-lover's heaven - and the book captures it all very well

5.0 out of 5 stars The definitive guide to the Titanic story, 7 May 2012
Don't be fooled by the fact that this is Rough Guide book - it is much more than a simple guidebook. Author Greg Ward is clearly a rigorous researcher as well as an obsessive fan of this story. It reads very easily, divided up into three sections - 'Triumph', 'Tragedy' and 'Aftermath' which follow the ship's story from its early inception through the well-documented disaster to the trial, modern-day resurrection, questions, conspiracy theories and controversies.

I was gripped throughout and the combination of excellent writing in easily digestible chunks, evocative photos, documents. statistics and quirky facts, made for a reading experience that transported me to another time and place - highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Quirky York, 29 Jan 2012
Love this book. I got it many years ago (so format may have changed) and found it was an absorbing way to see the city. Drawing Style reminiscent of Wainwright's Walking books - but without the hills! Only problem with my edition (6th) was size - a bit too big to pop in my handbag, but otherwise a great addition to the York guides

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply superb, 6 Jan 2012

My 14 year old son got these headphones recently and when I tried them I was blown away by the sound quality, especially the bass. Also the way they fit in the ear - I'm used to the usual pair that comes as standard with the iPhone and these are in a different league. I've just got my own set and am delighted with them ... As a relatively recent convert in my 50s I can honestly say they are definitely not just for the younger generation but anyone who loves listening to music in suberb quality.

Escape Routes: A hand-picked selection of stunning cycle rides around England (Escape Routes Cycling Guides)
by Matt Carroll
Edition: Paperback
Price: £10.84

4.0 out of 5 stars Great escapes around the country, 17 Dec 2011
I love the layout of the book, the variety of routes and the simplicity of the instructions. We've only tried a couple - the Lancaster to Crook O'Lune which is very flat and easy (we're not mountain bikers or into rough terrain) and I enjoyed the descriptions and quirky facts along the way. The other one was Arnside to Leighton Hall (a bit tougher for us) and that was fine too. I love the book and we're going to use it in future trips, planning short breaks around some of the interesting places it covers.

The only reason it's got 4 not 5 stars is that, as mentioned by others, it's quite a big book to pop into a rucksack so we've photocopied the rides rather than take the book with us. Otherwise it's a gem for beginners and more experienced cyclists.
