a good book, 18 Aug 2004
I just got my copy of this book and wanted to give it a thumbs up. It is very easy to read and understand for a new student of mass spec like me and covers a lot of applications of mass spectrometry including proteomics. There is a course guide so undergrads can follow a different path to postgrads when studying mass spec. We used to use de hoffman in my courses but I think this book is better and I'm going to recommend it to my professor. My only complaint is it could have contained sample questions and answers.
If you are looking for an affordable, easy to read, first book on mass spectrometry this one is for you.
