Ann Wigmore's book is quite old now, but still a definitive work. Let's face it wheat doesn't change a lot. It's full of useful info in an easy writing style, with some recipes and practical guidelines to growing and using wheatgrass. Thoroughly recommend.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for everything except an iPad in its case, 15 Feb. 2014

First off, it works. Good connections. Only negative for me, the body of the plug is too wide to use with iPad in Apple case. I need to remove the iPad from the case to connect. A minor gripe but worth considering if you plan to use with an iPad.

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't treat this like a normal kitchen knife!, 28 Jun. 2005
This knife is very different from what usually passes with that name.
If you want to chop onions finely you take half a peeled onion and make a series of cuts than run from top to bottom, then turn the onion through 90 degrees and cut across - each slice produces lots of tiny cubes of onion. Problem is the cross cuts tend to push the onion out of shape and you struggle. NOT with Global knives and especially this GS-5. Its razor sharp and cuts with very little pressure.
Ordinary knives aren't so bad, unless you hit your hand quite hard with the blade you won't do much damage. With a Global knife it would be a trip to casualty and stitches. Treat them with respect and they will do jobs you can't do with ordinary knives.
Oh, and watch out, buy from a reputable seller, they are widely counterfeited. Some auction sites have 90% fakes. So if you think you've found a bargain be very suspicious!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Classic updated, 20 Nov. 2004
Most of the recipes are from her BBC edition of 1982. That original changed the way I made indian food forever, it was oustanding! It gave better techniques than the bulk methods used by most indian restaurants, but had only a few colour prints and looks dated now. This is bigger, full colour and best of all the recipes have been updated as have some of the techniques and there are a few new ones like the magnificent Shahjahani Raan. This and Raan Masaledar are dishes where a whole leg of lamb is marinaded then slow roasted. They are both worth the effort and this is a must have book. Believe me I've been making curries since the 60's.
