If anyone could replace Phil Lynott then Ricky Warwick could and has. The riffs, harmonising guitars and sensitive & perceptive lyrics are here, with some hardness sprinkled too. It's reminiscent of 'Black Rose' which is a good thing.

Simply buy the album and book a ticket for the imminent tour. End of.

Managerial Economics
Managerial Economics
by Ivan Png
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautifully written text, 1 May 2013

This review is from: Managerial Economics (Paperback)
Written by a gifted Oxford graduate and, now, lecturer, this text is articulate and well structured. Within each topic, the author applies the economic concepts to contemporary economic problems / scenarios and thus bridges the 'badlands' between theory and practice. It serves as a great backround reading text for 'A' level pupils and undergraduate 1st year students, and I would be keen to encourage the author to undertake Version 2.0 where Calculus is more liberally utilised (this text adopts a very good 'Maths supplements' section at chapter-end).

This is a stimulating read and, therefore, highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best 70s Quo album ?, 15 Feb. 2013

This review is from: Blue For You (Audio CD)
ALL the Quo 70s albums are terrific but, after considerable thought, this is my favourite. 12 bar heaven and even the slow R&B (proper use of the term)of the title track is a big groove. With the addition of 'Wild side of life', this is the cherry on the icing.

I've never been a fan of black heavy rock T-shirts and I was attracted to this stylish number. Very good quality and it goes great with jeans.

A synergy exists with Rush whereby a brilliant drummer, bassist & guitarist combine to sing expertly crafted hard rock songs, with intelligent & perceptive lyrics. If Led Zeppelin had written 'Rivendell', it would have been hailed as a classic infant of 'Stairway'.

Nuff said, buy this epic.

Advancing Maths for AQA: Mechanics 2: 2 (AQA Advancing Maths)
by Ted Graham
Edition: Paperback
Price: £17.76

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding introductory Mechanics text, 24 Jan. 2013

This is an extremely user-friendly text. The explanations are clear and, in each chapter, key propositions and chapter summaries are highlighted in boxes (as a teacher, I always find this a useful tool). In addition, the worked examples are followed by numerous exercises and genuine past exam questions. Overall, I would highly recommended this text for any student's introduction to Mechanics, regardless of the exam board followed.

Contemporary Sixth-formers will love this text.

The theory is clearly explained, with key concepts/formulae boxed, and is followed by worked examples, exercises and a summary block at chapter-end. Perfect preparation for exams. Highly recommended and great value for money.

Beautiful design, quality, colour & texture and the polo shirt is light & comfortable. I particularly like Polo shirts that have a 'trim' on the collar and arms and this augments the style.

This is where it all started, with great riffs and lead guitar. Anyone who despises Quo and their R'n'B Boogie style is insane. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Aerosmith return to their raw and hard roots, 6 Nov. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The music here is as raw as their classic 70s albums and Joe Perry's guitar slams through the air-waves like a chain-saw at times. Even the album finale, 'Another last goodbye', is reminiscent of 'Home tonight' or 'Mia', with the gentle & moving piano chords.

Highlights, pour moi : 'Oh yeah', 'Out go the lights', 'Street Jesus' (a furiously-paced rocker), 'Something' (Joe Perry vocals and out comes the chain saw again).

Like a trip back to the 70s. As promised on 'The Jonathan Ross Show', they will be the last band standing.
