5.0 out of 5 stars Really good music!, 18 Jun. 2014
This music is a combination of urban hiphop and Greek mythology at its finest. Jaja's goal was to bring the Greek myths to modern-day life so that the listener can both understand the ancient stories and relate them to his/her everyday life. Interesting!

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't bother...., 9 Jun. 2014
Not for a mainstream audience of readers, in my opinion.
For followers of Belushi who will read anything about him, this book might be well-received by some. Others should probably not bother with it. I don't care for Colby's style of writing.

1.0 out of 5 stars Information available on the Internet, 19 April 2013
Because this is a single-topic book, Ms. Jones' information is readily available on the Internet. There are a number of blogs and sites that focus on this topic -- MJ's 2005 trial -- and they have published not only the material that Jones has used but actual court transcripts, background material, etc.

2.0 out of 5 stars A real stretch..., 14 Mar. 2013
This book was written to appeal to Michael Jackson fans, many of whom are anxious to read ANY new material about him. Many of the author's assertions are a real stretch. What are his credentials as an expert in body language or human behavior? He has declared himself "a knower" in these areas without any evidence of genuine expertise.
In contrast, Dr. Karen Moriarty's "Defending A King ~ His Life & Legacy" is written in a most convincing and interesting way, with many first-hand sources and more than 200 other sources. Moriarty has the credentials of a licensed clinical psychologist and therapist with many years of experience. Her chapters "Bizarre Behavior," in which she explains that Michael Jackson's behavior was really not bizarre but actually adaptive behavior, and "The Paragon of Paradox" are truly unique and very thought-provoking. MJ's attorney Thomas Mesereau has endorsed Moriarty's book and has contributed unique material to it. I highly recommend her book over this one.

1.0 out of 5 stars Uncomfortable, 1 Mar. 2013
To me, this book seemed too disclosing and self-serving on the part of the author. He is trying to capitalize on his long-term relationship with Michael Jackson ... at the expense of MJ's memory and legacy.
For MJ fans who want to learn more about him and to celebrate him, I recommend Dr. Karen Moriarty's "Defending A King ~ His Life & Legacy" and Joseph Vogel's "Man in the Music." The first of these books focuses on MJ's life, special challenges, and personality -- very interesting! -- and the second on his music. Good companion books!

Michael Jackson: Life of a Legend 1958-2009

3.0 out of 5 stars Nothing profound, but not bad, 26 Feb. 2013
This book contains many photos of Michael Jackson through the years. They are interesting and present a good photographic portrayal of his unique life.
However, the narrative about MJ in the book is nothing profound or especially revealing. I would describe it as "adequate" for a book of 192 pages, but I had hoped for more.
I recommend Dr. Karen Moriarty's book, "Defending A King ~ His Life & Legacy," which is well-written, thorough, thought-provoking, and different from the others that I've read. It is a very caring presentation of MJ with unique insights into his life & personality. I also recommend Frank Cascio's book about MJ; the author & his family were good friends of Michael for years.

4.0 out of 5 stars A book that evokes feelings, 23 Feb. 2013
This is a very moving book about MJ ... with contributions from many people who loved him and whose lives he greatly influenced. It conveys a great deal of strong feelings about MJ, and it is evidence of his great impact upon so many people. I also recommend Dr. Karen Moriarty's "Defending A King ~ His Life & Legacy." The tone, feeling, and direction of "DAK" are similar to those in this "MJ for the Soul" book. "DAK" is interesting, well-written, and also 526 pages long [a lot of content!]. Both books are really good; MJ fans will love them; and both will evoke laughter and tears. They are great tributes to Michael Jackson.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not bad but short, 23 Feb. 2013
This book is a disappointment because it is less than 100 pages long and not very informative. I recommend Dr. Karen Moriarty's "Defending A King ~ His Life & Legacy" (526 pages of very interesting material) and Frank Cascio's book about MJ. Both of these books are excellent.

Was Michael Jackson Framed?: The Untold Story That Brought Down a Superstar
by Mary Fischer
Edition: Paperback
Price: £3.99

2.0 out of 5 stars Not much new here, 23 Feb. 2013
This book rehashes a lot of material that is readily available on the Internet and in Geraldine Hughes' book. I found Dr. Karen Moriarty's "Defending A King ~ His Life & Legacy" more interesting, comprehensive, and passionate. Hers is a book for every MJ fan. Everyone will learn things that they didn't know before about MJ in "Defending A King."
